A YEAR IN PICTURES: DAY 27
I saw the eye-doctor today, which led to a stern lecture on how I MUST be on an interferon if I want to keep the optic neuritis stable.
Ugh.
I explained I am neurologist-less. But am trying hard to get one.
He said I need to be on it, to have my GP prescribe it. Which I informed him I can’t. Well, I can, but my insurance won’t cover it unless a neuro prescribes it, and I cannot pay out of pocket. $25,000 a year is a bit much for me.
This was a bad time to reminded of the cost of this medicine, being 20 minutes earlier I ordered Hannah’s medicine. It was $17,000.
I need to own a freaking drug company.
I do have an appointment Feb 23rd with a new neuro but I feel very uncomfortable with him for several reasons. So, I made a bunch of phone calls and a lot of research and found one about an hour away.
So, I will have my GP refer me on Monday. They said I should be able to get in within a month.
Also, next Tuesday Hannah has a pre-op appointment with her surgeon. Just an FYI for those who want to know.
TGIF everyone!!
